Kure Beach, NC (PRWEB) August 13, 2008 — Kure Beach, the charming coastal town located on the southern end of Pleasure Island, the smaller of two barrier islands on the Cape Fear Coast, is the host site for the 15th Annual Pleasure Island Seafood Blues & Jazz Festival. The two-day festival is being held at the Fort Fisher Military Recreation Area on Saturday and Sunday, October 11th and 12th. The event features two sound stages, great seafood and regional designers, jewel smiths and craftsmen displaying their products. There is also a special “Kidz Fantasy Zone” for children.
Headlining the festival this year are the award-winning blues and rock guitarists Johnny and Edgar Winter. The two will be playing together for the first time in more than 30 years. In addition, 18 national and international musicians will be entertaining the crowds with the best in American Blues, Jazz and World Music.
“We’re excited to have such talented artists at this year’s festival,” said Kim Hufham, President/CEO of the Wilmington/Cape Fear Coast Convention & Visitors Bureau. “This festival has been a staple in the community for 15 years and we’re proud that it continues to be such a popular and family-friendly event.”
Two-day tickets are $30.00 in advance and can be purchased at the Pleasure Island Chamber of Commerce office. Tickets can also be purchased over the phone.
