Slimpressions, an everyday shapewear line designed to smooth and compress a woman’s arms, back, and midriff, was recognized as top finalist in the Best Technically Innovative Product Category at the Contours International Lingerie Awards (CILA) on Monday, August 4, 2008 at the Waldorf-Astoria in New York City.

Atlanta, Ga., (PRWEB) August 21, 2008 — Slimpressions, an everyday shapewear line designed to smooth and compress a woman’s arms, back, and midriff, was recognized as top finalist in the Best Technically Innovative Product Category at the Contours International Lingerie Awards (CILA) on Monday, August 4, 2008 at the Waldorf-Astoria in New York City. The CILA awards and gala event, sponsored by leading intimate apparel publication, Contours Magazine, showcases the talent and innovation of brands and designers within the intimate apparel industry.

“We were thrilled to be recognized as a technical pioneer during our first year in the intimate apparel industry,” said Jennifer Daniels, co-founder of Slimpressions. “It was an honor to see the Slimpressions brand in the same category with such well-known and seasoned brands and designers.”

“Having just brought our line to market in January of this year, we were excited to see one of our shaping garments for the arms, back, and midriff on a runway model during the CILA fashion show,” said Amy Pedersen, co-founder of Slimpressions with Daniels. Also in attendance at this year’s CILA gala was Carson Kressley, host of the Lifetime Channel’s “How to Look Good Naked.” CILA honored Kressley with a Recognition Award for Promoting Healthy Body Image through the Media. Pedersen said, “The success of shows like ‘How to Look Good Naked’ reaffirms that shapewear has to accommodate women of all shapes and sizes. We are proud that Slimpressions has been leading the way in smoothing and shaping women on the top half of their bodies and helping them feel better about themselves.”
